so uhm, i go to europe in about 2 months. [i really dont know what the expect there.]
in the meantime i'm working as a butcher (again). [the countdown to vegetarianism has begun.]
this past year has been ridiculous. [like completely bonkers.]
i think i am going to go into seclusion ["find myself" or whatever.]
i plan on reading death in venice (again), the constitution of liberty, and the way of the peaceful warrior. [maybe write my own sappy story]
buy good records [someone find me slippery when wet. i already bought london calling.]
continue going on walks at 3AM [its nice to see the stars at that hour.]
byeeee.

there are mondo amounts of photos so they're here )

anywayz...
cache and freedom deep are crappy movies. death in venice and the warriors, amazing.
i now own journey's greatest hits on vinyl. my genesis total is up to seven. tears for fears 'seeds of love' is a good record too. there actually is a cheap place for clothes on newbury street.
90's-themed and st patricks day parties are good ideas. eating taco bell before is not though.
being forced to remember that your brother brought home a stripper was not enjoyable. same with realizing six years have passed since chris played in a band. (when did i grow up??)
the grasshopper is an amazing restaurant.
people from wisconsin and noank are good company.
ethan not going to the party was not cool. you're on my shitlist buddy.

yah spring break!

1- asking some cute ukrainian gal to show me to the notre dame library, then her offering to drive me there
2- making out with a freshman while listening to 'songs from the big chair' on vinyl
3- getting a free book at a book signing in a coffee shop is ashland, va
4- randomly finding another place for chris to play on his east coast tour
5- getting a sunburn only on the left side of my body (it looks stupid, but still an accomplishment in my book)
6- using all of butters's medicine while he was gone
7- making a reference to Play-mate of the Apes in a film paper about "paracinema" (or B-Movies to everyone else)

and so today, just when i thought i had gotten my shit together, my grandmother has a heartattack. and then i get the plague that is going around. thank God she is fine. i dont know what i'd do if she left.

i'd say i'm on par for a stellar semester.

at salvation army today i picked up this record. then some older lady asked me to help her unfurl a bed sheet. i did, and then folded it back up. later, as i was waiting in line at the register, she asked what i had got. as i was about to pay for it, she said "oh dont worry hunny, i'll take care of it." and so an old lady bought me a peter gabriel vinyl for $1.25.

i think its safe to say i'm the man.

i came up with dating rules, considering, at least according to sarah, i am a dating aficionado...or something. i've found these to work. am i talking out of my ass? perhaps. but they should be adhered to by all, or else you face the consequences. this can also apply for girls, so substitute whats appropriate. except the ashley part. that never changes. ever.

RULE #1: DONT EVER DATE A GIRL NAMED ASHLEY. stay away. ashley means doom. and doom is bad for relationships. same goes with yankees fans.

RULE#2: Stay away from people from New Jersey. If you happen to meet someone amazing from the Garbage State, proceed with immense caution. And especially girls named Ashley. If you meet an Ashley from New Jersey, hop on the next space shuttle launch and get to the stratosphere immediately.

RULE #3: Girls shorter than you are key. Anytime they can rest their chin on your shoulder when you're hugging, its really cute. seriously.

RULE #4: Follow Rule #1!

RULE #5: If they smoke, they fuck.

RULE #6: Any mix CD must include Journey. Some say Roy Orbison too, but that should go on the second mix you give them, not the first.

RULE #7: Try and go after a girl that lives within 100 miles. I dont ever pay attention to this rule, but i really should.

RULE #8: When you unlock the car door for the gal, walk the long way around the car. If she unlocks your door, she's a keeper. If she does not, proceed with caution. If she says that she was going to but didnt, say something witty in response, but move on. the thought was there.

RULE #9: Any girl that can call you out on your masculinity is a treasure. Think about it - she realizes that you're not trying to be pretentious but you have a certain level of honesty about you. and honesty is key.

RULE #10: Befriend her parents. Seriously. Pays off major dividends.

RULE #11: When hanging out, dont play Forty Licks by the Stones. Good album, but Beast of Burden will ruin all chances of even holding a conversation. This one I never experienced, but was told an awful story about it. So just avoid it. Same goes with watching Mean Streets. I did experience this one, and it wasnt pretty.

I think thats it. Sorry for the NJ trashing. But feel free to run any corollaries, or amendments by me. They might be added.

i love mascots. they're just so darn cute. some people hate them and think they detract from the game. i think they're an added bonus to the experience. if the game sucks, at least the mascot is running around having fun. so i decided to post most of my favorite mascots. here is one of my favorite, in doll form:

So Chris, Kyle and I went to Montreal last weekend. I dont have pictures of me (finally) ordering from bars, or Ulrich the 30yr old German dude who went drinking with us, or the chicks we met, or the crazy bar that was like spring break, or the kid from VA that i almost fought, or belly dancers, or the trampoline behind the club where the belly dancers were, or randomly getting carded at an irish pub and NOT at the border, or the warrant shirt i bought, or the tons of cars we saw backing up, or going to burlington. but here are some photos:

so i've been taking medicine to combat my sickness, and crazy dreams have resulted:

dream #1 - becoming the bassist of rj, despite not knowing anyone in the band or even how to play bass. yet i still become a member and play a live set/music video shoot at the corner of west boylston st and mountain st, in front of the honeyfarms. everyone is loving my tunes (when they are way off the music) when a huge fight breaks out in the middle of the intersection. this doesnt stop my playing.

dream #2 - going to the boston garden to watch some old timer hockey tournament. in case you didnt know, the garden closed like 10 years ago. i had to buy a ticket in the steep bleachers, which felt more like a roller coaster ride. somehow i managed to get a few rows back from the ice, and noticed a nameless friend playing.

dream #3 - visiting a house my friend was at, but upon entering realized it was a gate to hell. needless to say i had to fight a rather large demon before driving away.

if anyone is curious about this medicine, its only Actifed Triprolidine and Pseudoephedrine.

so many random things happened today i just had to tell everyone about. even a few "T-J" moments.

-seeing a lady eat raw meat in front of me, then a coworker saying "i wanted you to experience that"
-seeing a guy in an 'artist formerly known as prince' t-shirt (when he was that crazy symbol)
-getting $6.66 as a price on six different items......okay.........it was only twice but it was still a bit too satanic
-having a customer yell at me for "smushing ground meat together" then demanding i grab a new bunch
-having the Jamaican guy in seafood say "aye, nothin like one man helpin out another man" after i picked up a window that fell
-thinking about "building a mystery" then hearing it on the radio
-thinking about "express yourself" then hearing it on the radio
-thinking about the ending song to 'cant hardly wait,' then hearing it on the radio
-reminiscing about when i first saw freaks and geeks, and then later watching that same first episode
-accidentally referring to a female as "sir," and the lady not being offended, or hardly noticing the freudian slip

You Are 68% American
Most times you are proud to be an American.
Though sometimes the good ole US of A makes you cringe
Still, you know there's no place better suited to be your home.
You love your freedom and no one's going to take it away from you!

while i'm on the subject, can anyone explain why country music was the theme at the fireworks in boston tonight? what sense is there having two country performers tonight? with the exception of nyc, which is an entity unto itself, boston, and especially cambridge, are quite possibly the most un-"american" city(s) in the nation. if i wanted a country atmosphere, i'd go to birmingham or something. can anyone explain this to me?
